Concerning three kinds of religions in the world. Buddhism has the longest history. Though it was in India that Buddhism came into being, it became glorious in China. As early as the Western and the Eastern Han Dynasties when Buddhism was introduced into China began the Chinese stylization. Aiming at meeting the various demands for changing ages, Buddhism has been adjusting its form and replerishing its content. As a result, it finally took root and became an essential component in Chinese culture.The Song Dynasty was the critical period for the transition of traditional Chinese culture. Meanwhile, it was during this period that Buddhism realized the final step of Chinese stylization. During this period, the most distinctive character was the Confucianization of Buddhism theory based on the changing of practising model.This paper takes the Integration of Confucianism and Buddhism which was put forward by the famous monk. Qi Song hi the Song Dynasty, as the striking point and demonstrates the historical course of the Confucianization of Buddhism during the Two Song Dynasties and its profound influence.The paper comprises three parts. In first part, it summarizes the historical origins of the Confucianization of Buddhism since the Eastern Han Dynasty.In the second part, it further demonstrates the theoretical basis of the Confucianization of Buddhism in the light of the Integration of Confucianism and Buddhism by Qi Song.hi the third part, it analyzes the social impacts of the Integration of Confucianism and Buddhism.
