This thesis probes the context of Yuhua in respect of rhetoric. The author tries to expound the significance of the rhetorical alteration in Yuhua's novels. At first, she divided Yuhua's creative work into two phrases, and named them as imitation of dream and mimicry of reality respectively. Then she elaborated rhetoric of imitating dream in viewpoints of weird figure, distorted point of view, unbelievable narrator and time circulation. These four respects make the novel to be a dream, which accommodates the super-experience that is refused by regular narrative. But the dream points to the reality of psychology, history and culture. Then she elucidated mimicry of reality in viewpoints of mimetic action, repetition in plot and dispelling in representative environment and character. The author got a conclusion that Yuhua hasn't changed into a realist since late 1980s from those respects. At last the author pointed out that rhetoric is a kind of tactic which aim to dispel the rule of narrate and ideology.
