By means of it, I find the meaning and inspiration to the constructing of the beauty of personality today.The full thesis is divided into four parts:The first part: The ideological base of Confucianism's and Taoism's thought about the beauty of personality in the pre-Qin period. Confucianism's thought about the beauty of personality is based on "Renxue", the core of it requires the unification of individual passion and social ethics. To Confucianism, it is the realization of freedom and also beautiful. Taoism's thought about the beauty of personality is based on "Dao", it attaches great importance to individual's free development, and believes that the real beauty is individual's free development.The second part: the intension of Confucianism's and Taoism's thought about the beauty of personality in the pre-Qin period. Confucianism's beauty of personality is progressive, but Taoism' s is negative. The inherent beauty is as important as the extrinsic for Confucianism. But for Taoism, only the first is important.The third part: the way for Confucianism and Taoism in the pre-Qin period to realize the beauty of personality. Confucianism advocates realize the beauty of * personality by means of "li" and "yue" by complying with individual natural instincts.
