Countryside market in China with a long history, plays a very important role in the countryside community. As a matter of fact, it is the center of thousands of comparatively complete and independent countryside community. Based on some relating materials and the predecessors' researches, this paper discusses the vicissitudes of countryside markets in North China in Republic of China. It arrives at a conclusion that due to the development of commodity economy, the innovation of means of transportation and the changes of trade route and so on, the countryside markets in North China grew greatly in number and variety and its economic and social functions altered remarkably, which in turn, influenced the development of the rural society in North China. As an inevitable consequence of the economic development in Republic of China the vicissitudes of the countryside markets in North China adapted to the local productivity and urbanization and modernization of the countryside markets in North China in Republic of China.
