Based on the original documents and former researching fruits, this article focuses on the phenomenon about bureaucracy trading and merchant engaging in politics of Tang Dynasty and is included two parts:The first part: bureaucracy trading.1. The ways of bureaucracy trading. The author illustrates five ways of bureaucracy trading and studies its origin, development, prosperity and decline.2. The influence of bureaucracy trading to the society. This article manifests social harm caused by bureaucracy trading from the aspects of economy, politics and social atmosphere.3. The countermeasure by the government to the bureaucracy trading. The article analyzes the countermeasure by the government which included not only enacting the law related but also implementing to prohibit bureaucracy and their relatives trading.4. The reason of bureaucracy trading. The reason of bureaucracy trading popularly lies in the ancient social system itself and are closely correlated with inducement from government trading, low salary of bureaucracy and mercantile atmosphere.The second part: merchant engaging in politics1. The ways of merchant engaging in politics.2. The reasons of merchant engaging in politics. The author demonstrates it by analyzing merchant and gubernatorial class.3. The influence of merchant engaging in politics. The article evaluates this question from the character of the merchant class by relating with social circumstances of the time.In the summary, the phenomenon about bureaucracy trading and merchant engaging in politics of Tang Dynasty was inevitable consequence of the economical and political development and exasperated in the later Tang Dynasty which brought about deep influence. This article tries to reflect this phenomenon objectively and uses for reference to the current economical and political development.
