The thesis discussed the Naxi ethic group's appreciation of the beauty about totem relics in their dress. It was composed of ten parts: forewords; the brief introduction of Naxi; totem; the totem of Naxi; the Naxi's dress; the reflection of Naxi's totem on their dress; the role of the Naxi's totem relics in the dress; the comparison with the related ethnic group's totem relics in the dress; the appreciation of the beauty about the Naxi's totem relics in the dress and the determinant of the Naxi's totem relics in the dress.There are some requirements to ensure whether it is a real totem: it has consanguineous connection with clan, it is an ancestor, it is a god of the protect, the totem named clan, it has a myth that all living things transform the totem. The thesis analyzed the following things: the name of Naxi, the Naxi language and character, the folk-custom activities, the myth and so on. We can get the conclusion that Naxi's totems are sheep, tiger, yak and black. These totemism are showed in the sheepskin cloak, the sheep's wool cloak, the tiger skin adornment, the dress's colour and so on.The totem's character decides that totem relics in their dress have the following functions: magic, protecting body, distinguishing, beautification, sanctity. In the thesis, the author compared the Naxi's dress with that of Qiangzu, zangzu, Yizu, Lisu and so on. Through it, the author confirmed that they are related closely. From the appreciation of the beauty, it shows the Naxi's simple theory of dialectics, the national culture spirit, the national consciousness that pay attention to collectivity. At last, the author thinks that the circumstance, productive forces, faith, cultural exchange decided the Naxi people's totem relics in the dress.
