China borders on Korea. There are close connections on politics, economy and culture between two countries since ancient times.Established at the beginning of the 10th century, Gaoli Dynasty enjoys the country for 475 years(A.D. 918 to 1392) and serves as an important link on Korea Peninsula to unify the dynasty. From founding a state to 1279 when Mongolian unified China, China that GaoLi faced is in the situation that " the North Dynasties "( Liao Dynasty and Jin Dynasty ) and " the Southern Dynasties "(Southern Song Dynasty and Northern Song Dynasty) confronted each other. Because near Liao and Jin Dynasties at geography, GaoLi was suppressed by them and was in a very difficult situation. How to deal with relations of the nomadic people in the North of China is an essential problem to GaoLi. History proves that GaoLi can keep lifeblood for nearly 500 years, its flexible and favourable diplomatic tactics have played an important role. It is obvious that the relationship between GaoLi and Liao and Jin Dynasties occupied a very important position in the history of Sino-South Korean relations at ancient times. It is worth our further research on GaoLi's corresponding foreign policy in that period.History also proves that in the face of the change of China's politicalsituation and development of the east Asia situation, GaoLi paid close attention to and was very sensitive. She adjusted to the changed conditions constantly and her foreign policy was flexible in good time. In a word, GaoLi made her foreign policy become the independent policy that accorded with and made the best use of the situation. The policy was flexible and apt to the change and the toughness with gentleness, so GaoLi could save from damage and develop herself. Just because of this, under the complicated and changeable situation of East Asia at that time, GaoLi could safeguard her interests and strived for further progress in a narrow space between two big countries. Furthermore, she could have played a certain role and exercised her influence at the historical stage of East Asia according to her status and terms,.This paper is on the basis of "The history of GaoLi " and historical documents of China and Korea. It fully incorporates forefathers' research results, regarding time as the order, regarding incident as the cutting point and regarding foreign and military policy as main clue. The author makes dynamic narrations and careful analyses on the historical development orbit and a series of diplomatic important issue of the relationship of GaoLi and Liao and Jin Dynasties. At the same time, the paper is also about the triangle or bilateral relations of GaoLi and Song and Liao and Jin Dynasties. I expect to get the rule of the developing relationship between GaoLi and Liao and Jin Dynasties and to get the purpose, character and result of GaoLi foreign policies. About the interaction of multilateral relation and East Asian historical situation, and the inner link and law among them, this text has also done some explorations in order to pursue the historical influence and function of GaoLi in the situation of East Asia at that time. In addition, according to the era background, the author properly tries to do comprehensive study by cross discipline, such as diplomatic military theory, international relationship and geopolitics theory and method and expects to elucidate some unripe new opinions" in expounding the fact. Otherwise, the author also hopes to understand the transition law of foreign policy in Korea Peninsula in depth by this.
