Hegel's idea of drama aesthetics roots in the tradition of western drama aesthetics. It is criticizing , inheriting, developing and innovating to the idea of drama aesthetics from the period of ancient Greece and Rome to the classical period of Germany. It combines with Hegel's rich arts appreciation experience and philosophical attainment of tightness and dialectic and, forms a system of wholenss, profoundness and summarization. The rich sysetm involves creation theory, manifestation form and creator of script creation theory and, actor's performance and stage arts of drama performance theory and also, tragedy, comedy and townsfolk drama of relative theory of drama's kinds and history, ect. Among these theories, script creation principles, the relation between playwright and real life, tureness pursued by playwright, stage arts' comprehensiveness and tragedy & comedy are expounded with profoundness, novelty and inspiration. Hegel's idea of drama aesthetics does play the role of inheriting tradition and inspiring followers for its wholeness and profoundness and is conclusive drama aesthetics in the period of classical Germany. The basic characteristics of this system demonstrate as treating ethics as the center, treating ancient Greek drama as model, underestimating eastern drama, overestimating western drama, treating ancient age and the west as the center, persisting in the theories of the perpetual justice's victory and arts' dying out. Reasons for these characteristics are firstly, the specific history condition Hegel livng in. It was capitalism's rising period in Europe from the latter 18th century to the middle and the latter 19th century. Hegel felt panic-stricken and also, bright facing the fast development and change in Europe, esp, in France and Germany. On the one hand, the panic to new things made Hegel tend to be conservative, evade contradiction and hope to replace revolution with the promotion of ethics for the purpose of social transforming; on the other hand, the fact of Europe's great development, esp. Germany strength's fast expanding, made Hegel despising the east and eastern drama with brigheness and superiority complex. The second reason for these characteristics relates to Hegel's experience. He studied the language and culture of Latin from his childhood and had partiality for Latin culture's model-ancient Greek culture. The partiality became more strong facing all sorts of obstruction in capitalist society for drama development and, the theory of arts' dying out was also a negative conclusion made under the condition of being disappointed of capitalist general circumstances.
