Since 20th centuries, the western literary circle appeared so-called "the Linguistic Turn". The linguistic problem which hadn't received much recognition before quickly reached the front position of the whole social and literary study. Every school with great influence in the circle of philosophy, literature and esthetics have attached great importance to linguistic problem, and put forward their opinion to this problem, so "the Linguistic Turn" is an objective fact for can't denying. But why would it appear in the beginning of 20th centuries? What is the foundation behind the linguistic theories? Such problem will not just be a linguistic problem, the answer can't be found with the linguistic problem itself. To find the answer, we must not only understand the linguistic theories, but also research the background which these came into being. Many schools and persons have studied culture changing of capitalism. Among these studies, Jameson.F.'s modern interpretation theory is the most outstanding. It not only summaried the basic characteristics of social culture in capitalism society, but also analyzed the background that it come into being, such as politics, economy, history etc. This paper try to use Jameson's culture theory to analyze the western linguistic turn on the purpose of exposing the cultural truth behind "the Linguistic Turn".
