Southern Song, Qi Royal Infighting Phenomenon

The Liusong Dynasty and Xiaoqi Dynasty was a special period in which serious civil strife happened in the royal house. It had two characters, destructive and cruel. This article analyzes the cause of this phenomenon from four aspects, politics system, the low class's rise ,the individual cause of the emperor and his family, the mental of society.This article is divided into five chapters. In the first chapter, the policy to the royal family members in the early period between Liusong Dynasty and Xiaoqi Dynasty is similar. In this period, the rulers drew the other royal members to the emperors' sides.The second chapter analyzes the phenomenon of civil strife of royal family in Liusong Dynasty and the cause. The first One is Xiaowu emperor who killed his brother Liu yikang. From then on, the civil strife of royal house became more se-rious,and it got the peak in Songming emperor's times. It has much to do with the emperor's defective mentality.The third part is talk about the civil strife of royal house in Xiaoqi Dynasty .T-he civil strife of royal house most happened in Qiming emperor's times.Qiming emperor wasn't lineal descent of the early emperor in Xiaoqi emperor, so he feared other royal members would injured his successors, he begun to kill others family members. His son Donghun Hou carried on his policy.The fourth chapter compares the civil strife in two dynasties, there are two points to be emphasized .One is the low class's rising position, which isn't only the result of the civil strife, but also the method to make the battles more serious .The other is the effect of the mental of society and the public opinion.The fifth chapter is the conclusion.The civil strife of royal house in Liusong and Xiaoqi Dynasty is not only the result of the feudal system, but also the result of the early South Dynasty.
