PeiSongzhi 《San Guo Zhi Zhu》 was a great work. Most of ancient scholars paid attention to its abundance. But 《Si Ku Quan Shu Zong Mu Ti Yao》believed that Pei《Zhu》 was not only abundant but also peculiar. I think it was right. As far as its quantity was concerned, it was abundant; as far as its quality was concerned, it was peculiar. Pei 《Zhu》 included a large number of queer material. First, many ghosts and celestial beings stories were quoted in the book, Second, there were many omens in it ,such as dreams, divinations, rhymes and so on. Third, Pei held in esteem the special men and paid close attention to their special actions (social action, individual action, emotional action, passionate action), special words (monologue and dialogue), special ability and skill. Forth, many strange things and anecdotes were included in Pei 《Zhu》 .Pei 《Zhu》 was not only abundant but also peculiar, which had something to do with PeiSongzhi's thought and the quoted books. Quasi-histories and quasi-biographies had a large proportion in the quoted books. The atmosphere that stories consisted of ghosts and monsters, the biographies laid an emphasis on man's mystery, had a far-reaching influence on Pei 《Zhu》 .Compared with 《Sou Shen Ji》 and 《Shi shuo xin yu》,. 《San Guo Zhi Zhu》 was similar in content. Besides it was reflected in the book that Wei Jin's intellectuals became aware of their lives and themselves.By tracing back to the development of Chinese ancient narrative prose, we can answer why《San Guo Zhi Zhu》is not same as 《San Guo Zhi》in writing style. During the development of 《Shi Ji》, 《Han Shu》, 《San Guo Zhi》 , the consciousness of history was becoming stronger and stronger. 《San Guo Zhi》 was close to the science of history. At the same time, plenty of invented factor began to permeate into quasi-histories and quasi-biographies and the science of literature was awaken step by step. Pei Song zhi wrote 《San Guo Zhi Zhu》 quoting lost of invented stories. So 《San guo Zhi Zhu》 was close to the science ofliterature.In a word, Pei Song Zhi 《San Guo Zhi Zhu》 was the sign that the science of history was standing alone and the science of literature was becoming awaken.
