Xiao Hong is a Chinese contemporary woman writer with characteristic style and tragedy governs her life and her writings. From the view of tragedy aesthetics, according to her personal experience, this thesis analyses tragedy content and aesthetics style of Xiao Hong's fictions comprehensively and systematically. The whole thesis is composed of 2 parts.4The fist part analyses tragedy content of Xiao Hong's fictions. I divide it into social tragedy and life tragedy. The point of Xiao Hong's observing society was different during her life. In earlier stage, she accepted the idea of the left-wing writers of china; in later stage, she attached importance to human ignorance. During her whole life, she consistently pondered over the fate of Chinese women. I consider that the point of Xiao Hong's life tragedy is pessimistic but not desperate. By learning through the miserable personal experience, Xiao Hong knew the tragedy of the life and linked Buddhism accidentally. Her fictions involve not only the idea of Buddhism-"everything is bitter", but also the feeling of understanding, sympathy and calm. So, Her fictions do not make readers desperate. The second part discusses the style of tragedy aesthetics of Xiao Hong's fictions. I divide it into the aesthetics of moving and tragic and the aesthetics of neutral and harmonious. The aesthetics of moving and tragic mostly lies in those works that reflect the struggle of different social class and different nation. Although according with times topic of 1930s, it has some mistakes such as obscure language and conceptual character, and it does not reach the aesthetics of sublime. The aesthetics of neutral and harmonious indicates the highest achievement of tragedy aesthetics of Xiao Hong's fictions. I discuss it from 4 parts: the calm writing psychology of Xiao Hong; the intertexture of tragedy, comedy, minute sympathy and taunt; the clever use of child's narrative angle; the poetic feature of fiction.
