Chinese traditional basic human material necessities compose of clothing, food, housing, and transplantation. Among them, clothing takes the priority of the four, which forcefully justifies the importance of clothing in our life. People often pay much attention on the change of clothing. It is not only a social phenomenon, but also loads a lot of social information. The evolution of Chinese clothing mirrors specific status of politics and economy, folk custom, religion, ethics, value and social psychology. Clothing at certain time reflects people's way of life, aesthetic orientation and their pursuit for fashion.Chinese clothing, since 1950s, has always been the most auspicious cultural phenomenon of society. However, it, as other cultural products, could neither be exempted from the influences of social forces, politics, economy and culture. It has undergone changes with the evolving of times. Some styles of clothing for one time vanished, such as Qipao, Changpao, Magua, suit and marcel. Some, however, developed for one time, such as Lenin suit, Zhongshan suit, and military casual. In the past over 50 years, pan-political once characterized the Chinese clothing. The economic development plays a decisive role in the clothing evolution. The style lacked creation and inheritance, but it assimilated a lot. Meanwhile, people's taste for style shifted from suit-follow to difference, and from simple to gaudiness. The interaction of Chinese clothing and foreign ones was greatly strengthened.
