The May Fourth Period Of Romanticism In China Spread And Variation

At about the May Fourth period, the western romanticism began to spread in our country gradually, becoming a splendid current of that time, and influenced the temporal Chinese literature and the subsequent Chinese literature greatly.I intend to dissertate the spread of western romanticism in the certain period in three aspects .In the first part,it shows the forms of spread of western romanticism in China at about the May Fourth period. I think the process can be divided into three stages :the philosophy of the westen romanticism was introduced into China in the first stage; the classic writers were introduced to Chinese and their classical works were translated into Chinese in the second stage;the theories of the westen romanticism were intrduced in the third stage.In the second part,it investigates the effect of the western romanticism.Firstly,it discusses the he romantic theories theory of Wang Guowei;Secondly it analyses the influence of romanticism to the theories of some main writers;Thirdly,it discusses the romantic theories of Guo Moruo;Fourthly, it analyses the establishment of the writers' subjective criticism of that time.In the third part,it points out the variations between the westen romanticism and the Chinese romanticism and the reasons that lead to the variations.The first is the variations between them; Secondly,it discussses the impact between Neo-romanticism and romanticism ;Thirdly,it analyses the effect of Chinese traditional literature theories to the westen romanticism.I think the spread of romanticism in the May Fourth period can be devided into three processes,and some philosophy was introduced,some works were translated and the theories of romanticism were spreaded in the correspoding process.I also believe the westen romanticism affected the Chinese writers greatly,which include Wang Guowei, Yu Dafu, Zheng Boqi, Guo Moruo and so on.It also influenced the writers' criticism deeply.Then I point out the variation between the westen romanticism and Chinese romanticism.In my opinion, Neo-romanticism and Chinese traditional literature theories lead to the variation.
