City Streets, Public Facilities Design

Expound on the important role played by street furniture in the formation of activity place from street space. And research on the design of main elements of street furniture. Next analyze the main problems and reasons in the design and construct practice, and put forward the tentative plan to build a systematic management and design mechanism.The dissertation includes the following parts:The first chapter review the develop process of city and street and analyze their trend and function changes in modern times.Chapter2 analyze the important role of street in city, structure of city streets and the sorts of streets.Chapters research on the outdoor activities, show up the mechanism that street furniture involved in the formation of activity place from street space. Conclude the principles of street furniture design in order to form pleasant place. Research the design of different elements of street furniture and the relation between them, positive or negative.Chapter4 discuss the evaluate system of street furniture design. Analyze the main problems and reasons in the design and construct practice, and put forward the tentative plan to build a systematic management and design mechanism.
