The arts theory of Zhuangzi is a perfect combination of philosophy, esthetics and literature, the center of which is his Dao theory. Though his Dao theory came from Laozi , he developed it himself and made it contact with people' s life more . From several aspects, this paper try to show the meaning his thoughts had given to the contemporary literary arts and the total society development. The first part introduces how Dao came from and what new things Zhuangzi had added. From the emphasis on the objectivity of Dao of Laozi, Zhuangzi turned into spirits, which is related with beauty, truth, the experience of Dao and the people who sense it. People should follow the truth of the nature , then he can sense the beauty and experience the limitless freedom of Dao.Zhuangzi constructed his thoughts system from the following parts. Firstly, he believes that "nature" is the most important feature of Dao. His view about nature put human into a vital place; it is based on the theory of cosmos; and it reflects the communication between human and the cosmos. It inquires the truth of human. Secondly, Zhuangzi interpreted and reconstructed language so as to make the life of human clearer and better. This is different from the west obviously. Thirdly, Zhuangzi' s view about technique makes people now awaken. He thought that human had been a wrong way of technique, and pointed out "the combination of Dao and technique" is the only right way for people. This influences Martin Heidegger deeply. Finally, Zhuangzi analyzed knowledge . He pointed out the nature of knowledge and corrected the people who view knowledge wrongly. The upper statements all express the same meaning: making human back to his own way, and live a true free life with the nature.
