On Freehand Painting Chinese Painting The Spirit Of Expression

Great changes took place for the Chinese oil painting in early 1990's. A lot of new styles came forth, which were different from those former ones. Nowadays, to embody artist's "Unique Idea" in his works is very popular, which drives the style of the oil painting to be individual and pushes Chinese traditional culture and Western culture to be cross-linked not only in artist's pictures but also in his inside idea. Such circumstance has been widespread. Combining western "Performance" with "Reappearance" in painting inspirit of Chinese traditional literati, the development of enjoyable oil painting could be a good example for this tendency. For painting inspirit of traditional literati is the special painting ideal for Chinese artist, he have no choice but look for new inspiration from tradition to form his own painting language and style when more attention has been paid to the content than to the techniques.This paper aims at Enjoyable oil painting. The main content of this paper is as follows: analyzing history background of enjoyable oil painting and Fengmian LIN's enlightening time; narrating its spread and development; analyzing the reason of flourish of oil painting, the region characteristic of the enjoyable artists and the relationship between their style and their Painting inspirit. From these analysis, the effect of Chinese traditional painting inspirit (Painting inspirit of literati) onChinese artists (the enjoyable artists are pointed to throughout this paper) and the tendency of future oil painting are present.
