Good is always the basic value category in the human society. Since the famousargument was brought up by Socrates that virtue is knowledge, which was followedby a more accurate analysis on ethics by Aristotle, ideologists of all schools inwestern history have formed their own answers to the question "what is Good?"Onthis basis, ethical systems which have great influence on human society have beenformed. Ethics and morality are also the foundation of Chinese culture. In Chinesehistory, the ultimate aim of exploring the nature of the world and human beings is topursue the Good. Good is the aim of value as well as the basis of ethics in Chinesetraditional moral belief. To some extent, Chinese traditional morality is the knowledgeof pursuing the Good, which generally features Chinese people's wisdom for Good.Beauty, as another key category in ethics is closely connected with Good. A deepanalysis on the two categories will help further understand the nature of ethics. So wecan not neglect the relationship between Good and Beauty while studying ethics. Thisarticle begins with the same derivation of Good and Beauty on the basis of etymology,tries to explore the culture resource of "holding Good through Beauty"in Chinesetraditional ethics and aesthetic so as to manifest the influence of aesthetical sense onimplementation of morality. It further analyzes the connection of Good and Beauty incontemporary times to manifest the theoretical and concrete implication of "holdingGood through Beauty". It advocates to raise moral level and to implement moralpersonality through building an aesthetical sense, with which human beings canmarch towards loftiness, beauty and happiness.The article is divided into four parts.
