The paper sets the theme of "The Lord of River Xiang "and "The Lady of River Xiang " and the research history of the heroine's status as its subject. While sorting out the research history, it sums up and analyzes the focus and discrepancy in the process of research. It is based on the principle that works are the presentation of the author's mind; starts from the contents of the two poems, puts the hero and the heroine into all the works of Qu yuan to study. From the common characteristics shared by the sentiment expressed by Qu yuan, it studies the theme and the status of the heroine. This paper also proves with more evidences that the theme is to express Qu yuan's patriotism and disillusionment. In the poem, there is a plot that The Lord and The Lady made an appointment but they didn't keep it .The study method of the paper is just through the plot , the tragic tone and the unswerving sentiment . It points out "The Lord"and "The Lady" are "the male god of River Xiang" and "the goddess of River Xiang "; It also proves that there is no logical connection between "the Lord and the Lady" and "King Shun and the two imperial concubines.
