"The Wild Rose" is a drama script published by Prof. Chen Quan from National Southwest Associated University during the wartime of anti-Japan. It described a spy story happened in the occupied area, together with many love episodes. The story was soon been put onto the stage by the school opera troupe and became a splendor. On the second year, "The Wild Rose" met with a warm welcome when it was acted around the rear area including Chong Qing. And the government also rewarded high appreciations on the play. But short after that, the Central Communist Party released harsh criticism on the play saying that it glorified the traitor into a hero and that suggested the impact of the editorial of ZhanGuoCe. More than two hundred Chong Qing playdom insiders even write to the Education Bureau asking for recalling the reward and banning the performance. People related in Kunming soon reacted after Chong Qing to join in the comment, and led to a disturbance in the campus. The disturbance which seemed to be a normal academic controversy virtually opened up a fact that there lied a variance in harmony between the KMT and the Communist Party after the Wannan Event and also, to tell the culture bifurcation and conflict at the mid-upper period of the anti war.
