Lan Ethical Theory

As the representative of the modern Neo-Confucianism, Feng Youlan has devoted himself to the modernization of the Chinese culture and philosophy. The moral revolution made the philosophers in modern times consider the value and disadvantages of the traditional ethics in a new perspective. Feng Youlan' s ethic theory is considered as a positive response to the modern moral revolution. Feng Youlan, by applying the positive method and the negative method to the traditional ethics, analyzed and approved the moral categories, discovered and got rid of the disadvantages in the traditional ethnics. He constituted the new frame of logical analysis and added the western spirit of reason to the traditional ethics, therefore, he realized the modernization of the traditional ethics.In the perspective of Feng Youlan, "The objective, task and purpose of philosophy are included in life. " In his theory of life philosophy, he analyzed the meaning of life and the desires of human beings.Therefore, he used the method of intuition to reach the final spirits level and return the special spirits of traditional philosophy of China. It fully expresses the theory character, which is to continue the old and to create the new. It is referring and enlightening in the development of our philosophy.
