The decline and collapse of the old feudal clan turned out to a favorite topic for many sensitive and talented contemporary writers. Enlightened by western culture, the writers gained a new insight into the clan culture, combined with their rich experience in the old family, they achieved great accomplishments in their writings of such a subject, in terms of ideological contents and aesthetic forms. These works aroused great sensations when they came out, even till nowadays, they are still accepted as classic works.The relationship between father and son is the focus in family system, and it is also the backbone of the feudal ethics. The change of the relationship not only reveals the vicissitudes in social and cultural background, but also reflects the conflict feelings and value choice of the writers. The text takes the relationship between "father" and "son" as a breakthrough. Hereby "father" is roughly classified into four categories: patriarchal symbol and absence of father, invisible father, complexity of feelings and the forfeit of paternal power, and the ideal model father, meanwhile "son" is sketchily classified into three categories: the eldest son, the revolting son as well as the unworthy son. Then the text mainly covers the social and cultural causes behind the change in their relationship and the conflict feeling of the writers is also related to. Generally speaking, the author is trying to expatiate on the clan culture from three aspects: "father", "son" "the change in their relationship".
