Confucius Ritual Politics

China is world-famous for her ancient civilization and rite nation. Rite, one of symbols of Chinese culture, is a key to understand what Chinese culture real is. However, after developing for thousands years, rite has become a so complex conception that different individual can have different understanding.In my view of the complexity, this thesis firstly ascertains the scale of this conception on the basis of predecessor scholars' study fruits. The rite, original ceremony of religion fete, as we study in this thesis, is the summation of action and thought rules that were used to adjust relations between people in different groups. It set up different time characters in different history phases and is a historical conception.After defining the definition of rite, this thesis tries to find out the essence and function by reviewing the original rite. Then , the paper points out that ruling is one of the functions the rite naturally had and discusses the main formation cause and history course from bud to mature of the" rule of rite".Next, the paper compares Confucius' idea with that of west zhou dynasty and even before, and states its origin and the relations between elements.At last, the paper concludes that Confucius inherited traditional configuration of the rite rule and five factors, such as kin, religion fete, ceremony practice, sadhu as moral model and deter of punishment, which is...
