Itabashi Prose,

Banqiao is best known for his poem, calligraphy and drawing. However, his prose is not discussed very much. Actually, Banqiao's prose is a very important means to express and deliver the soul of his poem, calligraphy and drawing.This paper is to talk about Banqiao's philosophy of life, including teaching, humanness and sociability. Moreover, it will be proved that Banqiao's prose is very necessary and important to declare his belief and opinion combined with his poem, calligraphy and drawing. Furthermore, this paper will explore Banqiao's unique style and outstanding achievement in his prose through comparing with Yuanmei and Gui youguang's prose.As a result, Banqiao's prose is the best expression of his philosophy of life and a good instruction for today's life. Banqiao's achievement in prose is equal to even beyond his achievement in poem, calligraphy and drawing. To some extent, the influence of Banqiao's prose is more profound.
