On The Late Dongsun Chinese Philosophy

ZhangDongsun is an important philosopher and a thinker in the 20^th century of China . Although he was the first man who attempted to establish the complete new philosophy system at the modern age in China, his philosophical thoughts and himself have not been paid close attention and studied in the later 50 years of 20^th century in China .It was until middle of the 90's that the research of ZhangDongsun's philosophical thoughts has been increasing. But the comments of scholars in domestic academic circle studying ZhangDongsun's though concerning Chinese traditional philosophy is not so much, and the current research just lay emphasis on one aspect or other several aspects concerning zhangdongsun' Chinese traditional philosophy. In this paper, I try my best to depict comprehensively the ZhangDongsun' thought concerning Chinese traditional philosophy.This paper consists of six parts. The first part is introduction. In this part, I not only introduce ZhangDongsun' epistemology based on culture and the development of his philosophical thought but also describe the reason why I choose this thesis .The second part analyze the unique methodology that ZhangDongsun engaged in the Chinese philosophy research. His methodology consists of two characteristics, the one side is that ZhangDongsun find the trait of Chinese philosophy through comparing the architectonic difference between Chinese culture and western culture, the other side is that he testified the rationality of Chinese philosophy in the frame between cultural demand and cultural satisfaction. The third part analyze the characteristics of Chinese philosophy that ZhangDongsun defined .The forth part analyze the Chinese confuian oxthodoxy that Zhangdongsun depicted; ZhangDongsun believed the Chinese Confuian orthodoxy would lie in the future through analyzing the development of central concepts and categories in history of Chinese idea. The fifth part discusses the role of Confucianism and Chinese intelligentsia in modern times how ZhangDongsun defined .The sixth part is conclusion. It analyzes the value that ZhangDongsun's Chinese philosophy thoughts makes to contemporary Chinese philosophy.
