At first, this paper recites all La Tour's life and the course of his found. Georges de La Tour, the son of a backer, was born in Vic-sur-Seille of Lorraine in 1593. Although he has been increasingly recognized since the early 20th century as one of the most interesting painters of his age and his works have acquired great popularity, he was almost entirely forgotten during the three centuries after his death .Few facts are known about his life, and few of these may be directly related to his paintings.Then this paper mainly focuses on La Tour's oil painting .His paintings, which are devoted to secular and religious subjects, seen in either daylight or candlelight, were conceived in a very personal variant of the style of Caravaggio. But it is clear that he initially painted in a realistic manner and was influenced by the dramatic chiaroscuro of Caravaggio or his followers. This paper is mainly discuss about La Tour's art from four parts, such as mystical and moving light, united and bright colour, unusual composition ,lively and realistic characterization .Then study the cause of his art's forming. For example, a lot of factors had affected La Tour, such as: social background of his age, Mannerism , Classicism, Caravaggio, Baroque and religious factor.At last this paper discuss about La Tour's achievement and his influence. His works have enlightenment to later Cubism.
