Chuci Images And Songs Of The South Poetics

The author appreciates nature with poetic eyes, at the same time, his mind will respond to the objective things, and becomes the part of objective things, which results in the formation of objective shapes. These objective shapes, after abstraction and fabrication by the author, becomes literature image. There are large numbers of such image named as Chuci-imge in Chuci. Chuci-image is formed by Fu, Bi and Xing. Geography environment, philosophy idea, sun-worship, long-feng-worship, god-ghost-witch-faith and other factors of Chuguo play an important role in the formation of Chuci-image. The kinds of Chuci-image is diverse, which contains social image, natural image and myth image. We find that image is used extensively in composing of poesy by Qu Yuan and is the instructive idea in his writing. There is a association among image, expressing-ambition and expressing-emotion, and image organizes artistic conception and ecstasy. Image run through Chinese traditional poetic concept ambition, passion, artistic conception and ecstasy. Chuci-image makes up two opposed worlds which are ideal and common. Most part of Chuci-image possesses godship and leads to formation of ideal world. Qu Yuan is tended to use godship-image but not common image, which reflects his thought of pursuing ideal world and discarding common ones. Chuci-image contains individual life consciousness, culture system and human being spirits.In summary, Chuci-image is the prototypical image of Chinese poetic image, which establishes the foundation of Chinese image-system, and is the theory-footstone of Chuci-poetics and the logic initial point of Chuci-poetic system. Therefore, Chuci-poetics based on the Chuci-image is life-poetics being established in human being life consciousness.
