Painting with water-based materials (specifically watercolor, gouache and acrylic in the thesis) has its own lingual characters. Watercolor is known for visual transparency and buoyancy, and capable of both fine brushing for in-depth depiction and vividly flowing on watercolor paper. Gouache is an opaque watercolor, having some glossing power and cha racteristic of thickness, stability and fast-drying. Acrylic has the advantages of both of them, and when diluted with an agent or water, it is irreversible when dried. These m aterials, which share the qualities of immediacy, arbitariness, rough drawing and fastne ss, are mainly used on paper, and may be used in combination. On the contrary, silkscree n prints have the characters of mediacy, positive printing, flatness, prints and the hig hly summarization and application of color. With a long time of practice and effort, the thesis tries to draw upon the charcter of "rough drawing" of painting with water-based material, to construct a bridge that converts the language of painting with water-base d material to the language of silkscreen prints creation.
