| In the late 20th century, China witnessed the development ofvarious thoughts of culture and aesthetic conceptions. The traditionalChinese realistic figure painting of strong colors, one important type ofthe Chinese fine art, like a big tree, absorbed the useful nutrition fromsurrounding and showed a thriving life. In the period of 1978—1999,basing on modern viewpoint, the painters conscientiously choose thequintessence of painting of ancient China and foreign countries for theirresearch. The painters did a lot of explorations in such fields as subjectmatter, art language and so on. The painters of the traditional Chineserealistic figure painting have showed the personal art styles in theirworks which indicated the new trend of the painting creation. Thisarticle tries to analyses the character of creation, creating technique andnew artistic idea in this period. The issue is discussed in three parts.The first part explains the features of creation of traditional Chineserealistic figure painting of strong colors at the end of 20th century. One,the organic synthesis of image creation with subject matter expansion. 1.The new characters of the techniques of realistic image creation. Thepainters absorbed the western method of realistic image creation, andapplied it in the different subject matters, and created the works thatshow the modern features. 2. The new meaning of deformation. Thewestern abstract art and the Chinese fork art have inspired the creation ofthe painters. Two, the breakthrough of the use of colors for innovation.The traditional method that "different subject matters use the differentcolors" have been replaced by languages of colors that apply in therealistic image works and freehand brushworks.The second part discusses the new thought of artistic techniques inthe works. The different techniques result in different effects in the workswhich are traditional, or modern, or illusory or actual. Due to theresearch of creation technique, the works show more personal featuresthan before and were full of active life.The third part is dedicated to discussing the painters' new artisticideas. Influenced by the conception of realistic image, freehandbrushworks, fork art and western structural idea, the works are full ofpersonal characters and subjective thought. |
