The thesis consentrates on finding the thought source of Barthes' author perishment opinion and its developing clues lenthway and comparing with the other parties of literary criticism so that a clear structure of his theory can be learnt. In 1968,Barthes delivered an astonishing view that the author is dead and he wiped out the authority of the author in a work .As a matter of fact, this view has been showed in his early structuralism. In his book Writing Degree Zero which was written in 1953,he has negated the particular transcendent thought and the subject of social concepts in classical works;and also negated the subject in a work who knows and does everything.Barthes emphasizes that in the process of literature returning to linguitics as the subject of concept, the subject perishes .In the late 1960s,his literary theory transferred to post-structuralism.In his book The Death of The Author he pointed that from the point of the subject of a narrative work ,the author is not only source of subject .Actully, many sentences in narrative works can not be regarded as being spoken by the author and that author can only appear at the same time with work .The task of critics is to undo the work but not explain the work .The unity of the text doesn't lie in the author but in the readers. In his text-oriented theory of the post-structuralism he expressed his opinion of many texts and he thinks that a text consists of some written texts and some other pieces of texts so the meaning of the text is uncertain and in this way it destroys the relation between author and works.
