Style Piano Etude Study

The creation of Chinese-style piano etude plays an important role not only in the creation of the whole Chinese-style piano music but also in the formation of Chinese piano school. It is an indispensable part of the creation of Chinese-style piano music, and furthermore, it's the solid foundation of the flourishing development of a piano art school. But currently the creation of Chinese-style piano etude has not received the right attention and it's difficult to form a powerful buttress for the foundation of a piano school to perform Chinese-style piano music. By analyzing and summarizing the successful experience and the defects of Chinese-style piano etude, this thesis is intended to arouse public attention on the creation of Chinese-style piano etude, which will exert great influence on the future development of Chinese piano music as well as Chinese music.Based on the arrangement and analysis of the current Chinese-style piano etude, using the relevant research achievements for reference and connected with the creating background of the works, the thesis extends its research and comment on Chinese-style piano etude from the following four aspects - concept defining, developing thread, creating skills and performing techniques. The main body consists of four parts: the research category of Chinese-style piano etude; the historically evolutionary origin and case studies; analysis of creating features; analysis of performing techniques.Chapter One establishes the research category of Chinese-style piano etude. Chinese-style piano etude is the product of the collision and fusion between Chinese and Western music, with piano as its vehicle, with technique practice as its real purpose, with Chinese culture spirit as its background. On one hand, it absorbs the fertilizer of Chinese traditional music in historical development; on the other hand, it borrows the modern creating skills from the synchronic differences and inherits and innovates them from the constantly developing times. There are four types of works: piano etude which is not called etude; piano etude of the typical meaning; piano etude joined with artistic quality and piano etude which is not called music. This chapter is the premise and basis of the subsequent research.Chapter Two combs the developing thread of Chinese-style piano etude and divides its development into four periods: before 1949, 1949-1965, 1966-1978 and so far from 1979.
