From the early of the 13th century to the middle of the 14th century, Gaoli dynasty had devoted many maidens to Yuan dynasty .It was one of the most important diplomatic forms which ordained the unequal relationship in a systematic way between the two countries.The appearance of the system was based on the marriage custom between the Mongolian tribes. It was a typical manifest of the mutual relationship between Gaoli and Yuan ,embodying the policies to Gaoli dynasty, such as the political controlling, the national oppressing and the population harrying .Most of the maidens who came from Korea married the soldiers, some of which went into the noble society, even into the palace. It was an unique phenomenon in the history of China's feudal dynasty. At the beginning of Ming dynasty, the maidens from Korea as a special crowd still activated in the basilica, but not as a system. Both the number and the scope are not as large as before. It was restricted in the basilica only serving for the emperor.Why did the Ming dynasty who based on the Confucian's traditional creeds and etiquettes carry on the backward policy when they subjugated the Mongolians for their unorthodox and limitation? Why did they cover up their actions during the adopting process besides constricting the number and the scale of the Korean maidens? How were the maidens...
