The dissertation, from the diachronic perspective, traces the development of the Chinese structure "P+N+ (X) ", and the result is that during the period from the early Qin Dynasty to Wei & Jin Times, only the pattern "从+N+ (X)" among the derived patterns from the structure precedes steadily the Chinese VP, with the rest irregularly distributing before or after the VP while since Tang Dynasty, various patterns derived from this structure, according to their different senses, distribute before or after VP. Then the dissertation analyses what contributes to the making of this rule from the cognitive perspective, and the author considers the pattern "P+N+ (X) " for the starting and the completion positions of the action as a "PATH" metaphor while the pattern "P+N+ (X) " for the occurrence place as a "CONTAINER" metaphor. Thus, the positions of their occurrences in sentences conform to human cognition laws. At last, from the angle of human language, the dissertation based on the theory of language typology explores if the structural changes affect the typological classification of the Chinese language, and explains the changes of this structure through the process of its forward movement.
