The piano sonatas of Prokofiev are considered as the masterpieces that inherit the classical piano art tradition and begin the new style of the twentieth century. The piano sonatas were created throughout the life of this great composer, and somewhat clearly reflected the substantial innovation on his techniques of music expression. His creation is always based on the foundation of classical diapason and balance, and meanwhile notably features in anti-romanticism.This essay is doing research with his piano sonatas from all its aspects such as the melody, the concord, the rhythm, the music pattern and the innovating qualities of the piano performing style. It concretely analyzes and illuminates the anti-romanticism features, which will make people better understand why the piano sonatas which had been weakening since romanticism has coruscated new vitalities in Prokofiev's pieces.
