Honest And Upright Official And Knight Relationship Evolution

The current thesis takes the relationship of upright official and swordsman ,which have wide connections with complicated legal case novels and chivalric novels as its object of study. In this thesis, the writer gave an objective and thorough description of several stages of their relationship as well as the association model, which made a dood study on the historical location of upright official and swordsman. At the same time, the thesis made a thorough analysis of the essence and true reason of their alliance. this paper is separated into three parts.The relationship of upright official and swordsman before JiaQing period is described in the first section .by reviewing the novels from the Han Dynasty to MinGuo period, the development of the relationship of upright official and swordsman goes through three stages. In the first chapter, before approaching the relationship of upright official and swordsman, I will straighten out the thread of thought of chivalric novels and complicated legal case novels. Although, the two different novels type developed distinctly, they had crossing appearance. In the second chapter, the writer analyses several features of relationship of upright official and swordsman. In some parts of novels, swordsmen oppose local authorities,they commit an offense, but are also excellent at solving crimes. Correspondly, the image of officials are negative ,they are made fun of swordsmen. In other parts of novels, the government officials are weak and incompetent, they are helped by swordsmen. Swordsmen participate in discovering and solving cases. The chapter also probes into the reason of the phenomenon——the nature of case and the freedom of swordsmen.The relationship of upright official and swordsman from JiaQing period to GuangXu period is studied in the second section. In the period, with the collaboration of complicated legal case novels and chivalric novels , the upright official and swordsman unite for mutual interest. In the first chapter, the thesis analyst the reasons of alliance of upright official and swordsman,it considers the development of literature style and content, the reflection of social-psychological factor, the reduction of swordsman's living space as reasons.In the second chapter, it is supported that LongTuGongAn effect the model of alliance on structures——an upright official run through every case .ShuiHuZhuan influence the later works by reflecting vast world and portraying swordsmen, the more important is that it affects the changes of swordsmen's temperament and their property of value.The content of the third chapter is to investigate several aspects of the relationship of upright official and swordsman through the case study of ShiGongAn,SanXiaWu Yi,PengGongAn,incuding considerate talent of upright official to swordsman, Swordsman's gratitude for receiving help and encouragement by upright official, the deep emotion between upright official and swordsman, which is born in their cooperation, upright official's dependence on swordsman and the latter's no confidence on the former, the restriction and balance between them. In the last, the chapter analyzes their achievement.The relationship of upright official and swordsman from the late days of Qing Dynasty to the early days of MinGuo period is studied in the third section, at this stage, upright official and swordsman separates. social background and cultural background are analyzed in the first part of this section. In this period, XiaoWuYi and other works are considered as a transition stage, although some works adopt former model, upright official only be considered as thread and swordsmen's behavior is described totally. In the second chapter, it is described that after med-term of GuangXu period, two tendencies appears. One of that is The works turn into martial arts novels, which portray a batch of swordsmen, the others turn into detective novels, in which upright official give up its seat to detective.
