Deeply influenced by the traditional Chinese philosophy and aesthetic thoughts, the traditional Chinese painting is different from the expression techniques of western painting in many aspects. In Chinese painting, the space, as the representation of uniting natural space and aesthetic space, sets special regulations for picture space. In pictures, the imitation of the nature cannot be sensed through physical vision. On the contrary, based on the independent space construction rationale, the pictorial effect produced by constructing complete space as well as the Chinese ancients' unique knowledge and understanding on time and space, which embodies the beauty of space in the complete sense, we induce four kinds of pictorial modes of Chinese painting picture, i.e. the great space, the evolving space, the overlapping space and the white space. These four spaces constitute the space construction modes of the Chinese painting picture and reveal the intrinsic essence of Chinese painting space construction. (The contemporary painters have developed a lot with what has been done by the forerunners as the basis.)...
