This paper focuses on aesthetic space.In the society of ancient China,how "men"aesthetically looked up to "heaven" determined the height of space and how "men"poetically looked down at "earth" bred the depth of space.As the foothold of spatial cognition,"men's" aesthetic view of "heaven and earth" maintains the stable connection between two ends of space and adjusts the dynamic balance of spatial "heaven and earth",thus constituting the basic framework of aesthetic space.The emotional and rational interactions between "men" and "heaven and earth" promote aesthetic space to develop from "shape" to "conception" and finally contribute to the natural harmony between "heaven","earth" and "men".Directing at the modern transformation of Chinese aesthetic ideology,the construction of and researches on aesthetic space in ancient China take aesthetic space as the foothold and penetrate into Chinese classical aesthetic spirit from a spatial perspective.During the observation and study of Chinese classical aesthetic space,this paper absorbs the space theories since modern western society and constructs Chinese aesthetic space in the context since modern times.Through a systematic integration of the construction of aesthetic space,this paper attempts to arouse the vitality of Chinese aesthetic thoughts by making the intrinsic space idea of Chinese traditional aesthetics extend in modern sense.In terms of the research idea,this paper adheres to the basic idea that space keeps developing and moving and carries out the construction of and research on aesthetic space in combination with the connotations of space of Chinese classical aesthetics.The argumentation of this paper proceeds from the analysis of partial elements to the cognition of overall space,followed by the inner spiritual observation and dynamic exploration of aesthetic space on the premise of an active-state living pattern.This paper extracts the four elements "heaven","earth","men" and "heaven · earth · men" as a whole from Chinese classical aesthetics mainly by using western space theories.Based on this,this paper emphasizes aesthetic space construction from two dimensions:the shape of objects of "heaven and earth" and the subjective spirit of "men".This paper explores the reasons for movement from dynamic support and step clarification while focusing on the development and movement of aesthetic space.As to research methods,this paper reveals the existing form,spiritual orientation and movement of aesthetic space in accordance with the spatial exposition of Chinese classical aesthetics,on the basis of "men" alive in "heaven and earth" and through the intensive discovery of aesthetic practices.This paper structurally consists of six sections,with section one and section six as the introduction and conclusion and section two to section five as chapter one to chapter four.The introduction section mainly presents a reviewed generalization of background theories and environment,from which the basic argumentation orientation is extracted.Revolving around the basic topic of aesthetic space construction in ancient China,the exposition takes the two fundamental elements "Chinese classical aesthetics" and"space" as the supporting points to investigate their own survival and development circumstances and analyze the premise macro environment of the argument.The good foundation of theoretical integration between "Chinese classical aesthetics" and "space"through mutual promotion and development is elaborated and the aspects remained to be developed are revealed through the specific analysis of these two dimensions.Following the basic trend of integration and unification,this paper discovers during sorting a certain degree of openness in the researches on "Chinese classical aesthetics"and "space",from which the main topic is extracted to confirm the basic content and meaning of this paper.Chapter one mainly analyzes the background from the perspectives of space theories and the space connotations of Chinese classical aesthetics.That space extends from general to specific meanings acts as the prerequisite of the background analysis of space theories.Cognitive aesthetic space extracted from the general space is placed in the environment of Chinese aesthetic space.This paper further investigates the space connotations of Chinese classical aesthetics,lending a solid background support to the subsequent multi-angle analysis of aesthetic space construction.Chapter two mainly explores the organic components of aesthetic space construction.In the traditional context of Chinese classical aesthetics,this paper views aesthetic space as the ternary intergrowth of "heaven","earth" and "men" and displays an intensive analysis of the above three factors to examine the positive role of these factors in aesthetic space construction.Chapter three mainly studies the specific construction of aesthetic space.The morphology of "heaven · earth · men" as a whole marks the sprouting of aesthetic space construction."Taking shape" means the initial forming of aesthetic space."Creating artistic conceptions" represents the development and maturity of aesthetic space.Chapter four underlines the discussion about the driving force of aesthetic space.The perceptual power focusing on "emotion" in subjective aesthetic consciousness ensures the original power of aesthetic space and the rational power linked by"rationality" standardizes the regular movement of aesthetic space,whose coordination finally integrates into the overall power of "spontaneous process".Aesthetic space moves naturally in the harmonious atmosphere between "emotion" and "rationality" of subject consciousness.The conclusion summarizes this paper from a comprehensive view of the multi-angle research on aesthetic space construction above.This section echoes the possible aesthetic space hypotheses in Chinese classical aesthetics and demonstrates whether spatial presence is rational and scientific or not from such three aspects as maternal environment,space improvement and development and intrinsic power based on the discussion results of the above-mentioned chapters.Maternal environment gives birth to aesthetic space;improvement and development provide space with the platform suitable for growth;intrinsic power supports and guarantees a good living state of aesthetic space.These three elements combined prove the scientific existence of aesthetic space in Chinese classical aesthetics.
