In view that most people study Marcuse Theory of Aesthetics while neglecting the connotation of existence, this article proposed and proved the necessity of studying Marcuse Theory of Aesthetics from the viewpoint of existence. Then, the article further analyzed Marcuse's construction of aesthetics based on existence. In addition, it demonstrated and explained the theoretical and pragmatic importance of the esthetics of existence.The author stated that the aesthetic activity, an integral part of human life, is the best embodiment of active and passive activities of human life. Therefore, aesthetic activities are the nature of human life.Marcuse Theory of Aesthetics attached great attention to the human life. Aiming at eliminating the malpractices occurred during the development of capitalist society; Marcuse correlated the human aesthetic being with the changes of social, political and economic systems. He also tried to establish an individual-oriented liberal society which was governed under the principle of Eros and was without oppression and ruling.Marcuse Theory of Aesthetics is of great value for the development of aesthetics and the improvement of constructing an ideal existing pattern. We benefit a lot from his theory for making a better world.
