Herbert Marcuse as representatives of Western Marxism, inherited the art theory ofMarcuse’s critical spirit of clear and full of personality and structuralist paradigms, andalienation are major clues throughout the system of Marxist theory. Herbert Marcuse indealing with the relationship between art and reality, while recognizing the link betweenthe two, but he has directly denied that art is a direct copy of reality. His understandingof the links between art and reality has its own unique, this core is of the understood,real art is different from reality, by denying reality and show a reality is not real, so thatpeople get liberated from reality. The core at the same time it constitutes the Marcuseabout three of the most basic principles of aesthetics: the first art show was differentfrom the real world and the other world; Second, the art is on the existing reality of atranscendence; Third, art people were liberated from the existing reality. Three artaesthetics of Marcuse’s stated principles specific to what he said "aesthetic form" beachieved.This article by reviewing and analyzing large volumes of documents, critique ofMarxist study of Marcuse’s theory of art to emancipate the view origin, connotation,characteristic for different levels of depth and elaborated on the theory and history ofthe composition of the source. Use of the comparative method of historical,homogeneous heterogeneous combination of methods of analysis, discussion onMarcuse’s critical view of vision, strong spirit of humanism and the combination of theessence of theory of art and art criticism, the fundamental task and its unique value. Themain structure of this article: part I, introduction, writings including Herbert Marcuseand brief research at home and abroad, the main content of the article and its purposeand meaning. Part II background of Marcuse’s theory of art, mainly from thebackground and theoretical background on two aspects. Part III summary of Marcuse’stheory of art, in introducing the connotation of the theory of Marcuse’s art on the basis of the proposed basic viewpoints of Marcuse’s theory of art, that art must be forms, artmust be self-disciplined, there is art is "different". Part four in the theory of Marcuse’sart art save functions, from save the basic elements of art content, respectively, ofdifferent highlights, free of fighting for human nature, and the relationship between sexand free. Part v save the thought contemporary value and inspiration of Marcuse’s art.
