By way of interview, the researcher studies children's cognition of various types of accidents which may threaten their safety in four aspects such as defining ability, cognition of causation, cognition of consequence and cognition of contextual pictures, including being injured, being electric shocked, scald, toxicosis, falling off from high places, tumble, being kidnapped and going astray.Through the generalization and statistical analysis of the interview results, this thesis respectively reveals the general features of the children's cognition of accidents, age feature, gender feature, feature of the kindergartens as well as cognitive features for different accidents. Through the research, the researcher finds that 56% of the children who were interviewed can make a definition of the accidents by describing the reason, the consequence or the whole process of a special accident, 58% of them can only answer one aspect of the reasons which will cause the accident, and 75% of them know the possible consequence. Finally, 62% of them can rightly identify the dangerous scenes. Besides that, the researcher also finds that children's cognition of accidents doesn't have obvious difference between different gender, but have obvious difference between different age, different kindergarten and different accident. On this basis, the researcher generalizes the aforesaid features and reaches a conclusion that the children's cognition of accidents is affected by the development level of their thoughts, their life experience and the education they received. Then the researcher makes some suggestions on safety education for preschool children. At last, the researcher reflects on this study and puts forward some points that need further improvement.
