"wuyuechunqiu" Classical Studies, And The Eastern Han Dynasty

The study of Wu Yue Chun Qiu is mainly focused on the subjects such as author, editions, and the literature styles. The former scholars had already done lots of research work in this field, many research results has come out. Meanwhile, there are still many controversial issues that need to be solved.The thesis researches into some basic problems of Wu Yue Chun Qiu at first, thinks that, although the textual history and edition of this book is very complex, from the present edition, we can still catch the original figure of the writer Zhao Ye's work. Actually, Wu Yue Chun Qiu has also experienced such a progress during a long historical period, in which it was added, deleted, disparted, analysed. As for the literary genre of the book, the thesis thinks it as a kind of rudiment novel, and studies the problems of its indiscreet job and makes an estimate of its value. The thesis emphasizes in studying the connection between Wu Yue Chun Qiu and the classical studies in Eastern Han Dynasty period.The classical studies in Eastern Han Dynasty inherited the tradition from Western Han Dynasty that only Confucianism was noble and deserving respect, influenced deeply by Dong Zhong Shu'confucianism thoughts, at the same time, it occurred and made progresses at a certain period of Later Han, Closely connected with Mysterious prophecy of theology, served for feudal royal sovereignty but gradually came to its end, that is the most obvious character of the classical studies in Eastern Han period. The literary works are always written at the background of a certain social historical period, and always be influenced by social major thoughts. Completed at the early stage of Eastern Han Dynasty, The work Wu Yue Chun Qiu can't avoid being branded by Confucians. Loyalty,truth justice and humanity,revenge and repaying kindness with kindness,the marriage of the heaven with human , prophecy and theology, exclamation expressed to prosperous or downfall ego, all those social thoughts and mental phenomena incarnated in Wu Yue Chun Qiu are discussed in the thesis from the point of confucianist,The writer Combines with the background of Han dynasty social background, customs and belief, the mind of Confucians , reveals the Confucianism purpose of writing Wu Yue Chun Qiu, considers that it is "another way of expressing Han dynasty's thoughts."...
