At The Sui Dynasty Epitaph School Series

The epitaph's emending and compiling is very important in the study of it. This paper, which is composed of two parts, amending and compiling, is just to do this work.There are many epitaphs in the book of Quansuiwen Buyi (《全隋文補遗》) , the number of which are ample, the texts are accurate, and the photos' sources are easy to be found. In the end of the book, a concise index is annexed and that make it possible to use the book as a corpus about the epitaphs of the Sui dynasty. What I want to do in the first part of my paper is to amending the texts of the book.After the book's publishing, some new epitaphs have been found. The second part of my paper wants to compile the new epitaphs. I have tried my best to find the new materials about the subject compiling the epitaphs which are missed by the book of Quansuiwen Buyi (《全隋文補遗》) .In the course of the amending and compiling, the distinguishing of the characters is one of the paper's targets. I want to make it clear that what the characters mean and why I have make such a conclusion.
