On The Acceptance Of The Later Philosophers To Mozi's Thought In The Warring States

Mohist's school is a distinctive well-known school in Pre-Qin period, Mohism not only is the initiator of Mohist's school, but also is the person of the comprehensive knowledge. Mohism's ideology appears in Mohism. Mohism's political thoughts have a deep influence on the Pre-Qin scholars. From that time on, Mohism's political ideology is widely accepted by Pre-Qin scholars.The thesis tries to use the reception aesthetics' reader-oriented methodology to study Mohism's ideology, and choose Xunzi, Hanfei and Lushih Chunchiu to represent Confucianism, Legalist school and Eclectic school to study the characters of their accepting Mohism's theory. Therefore take them as the example, to summarize the characters of scholars' accepting Mohism's ideology in the late warring states period.The thesis is divided into three parts to develop the research: Foreword, Body, and Conclusion. The body part itself consists of three chapters.Foreword: It briefly introduces the general situations of Mohism's ideology research, methodologies of reception aesthetics and significances to study Mohism's ideology. Besides, it illustrates the reason of my focus on Xunzi, Hanfei and Lushih Chunchiu.Chapter one: The acceptance of Xunzi. This chapter performs from four aspects to analyze separately in terms of frugality, funeral-controlling theory, anti-music thought and no attacking theory.Chapter two: The acceptance of Hanfei. This chapter performs from three aspects to analyze separately in terms of principle, the idea of identification with the superior, and the critic on Mohist and knight-errants.Chapter three: The acceptance of Lushih Chunchiu. This chapter performs from three aspects to analyze separately in terms of frugality, funeral-controlling theory, anti-music thought and no attacking, saving and guarding, killing for justices theory.Conclusion: It offers a systematic summary on the three characteristic scholars' acceptance of Mohism's ideology and take them for example to analyze the social reasons of Mohist school's perish.
