Poetry about wine is an important phenomenon in Chinese literature history. In the thousands of years, from "The Book of Odes", the Wei and Jin Dynasties to the Tang and Song Dynasties, ancient poets always admire wine and write lots of poetry about wine. Wangji lived in the Early period of Tang Dynasty, and wine played an important part in his poetry, which can be described as "wine appearing in every poem" like TaoYuanming. There must be a great sense if we research Wangji's poetry about wine as a individual case: on one hand his poetry about wine is full of his characteristic and then we can understand afresh his poetry's undeniable influence on Chinese literature. On the other hand, from Wangji's poems, we can find some characteristics on the relation between the poetry and wine, and describe the venation of the development of the relation.The paper is divided into three parts as follows:1. Analyze Wangji's psychology, the reason why he addicted to wineFrom Wangji's experience of three official careers and three retirements from official life, we believe he was not a total slave to drink and he drunk wine just because he could not confirm his life value in the contradiction of "being in and out". Wine helped him find his philosophy of life in which drinking take a great part to believe in---the physiological state, spice of life and mentality when drinking wine contributed his philosophy. Among them, the feeling of getting drunk was just the most apparent surface, which Wangji regarded as the media to the psychology of "self-congratulation" and carried out the same existence principle. The psychology of "self-congratulation" unified the Confucianism, Buddhism and Daoism and eventually set up a point of value emphasizing self-congratulation.2.
