The. "huainanzi" Monosyllabic Content Words Synonyms

As to the book《Huainanzi》, many scholars have been concentrating to the study of its idea, whereas the study of its language and glossary is very deficient.By statistical induction and comparative research method, this article sum up and compare the monosyllabic substantive thesaurus thoroughly ,in order to reflect the genuine visage impersonally, in detail and exactly. This article doesn't collect disyllable and polysyllabic word in principle. In word class, we collect noun, verb and adjective, but not empty word. 152 groups of thesaurus which have common meaning positions are reviewed. Among those, there are 58 groups of noun including 134 words , 70 groups of verb including 185 words, and 24 groups of adjective including 55words. We differentiate and analyze every group of the thesaurus. On that basis, we summarize the synonymous relationship format in《Huainanzi》and plough around the cause of the formation of monosyllabic substantive thesaurus. As a result, we can not only approximately acquaint ourselves with some characteristics of glossary in Xihan time, but also get some essential reference of history division study of thesaurus.Via the induction of thesaurus in《Huainanzi》, we draw a conclusion that,of all the thesaurus in《Huainanzi》, the seriation is as follows: verb, noun, adjective. The verb are the largest. As a result, we can determine that the development of noun and adjective was steady, while that of adjective changed greatly.After the induction of thesaurus in《Huainanzi》, we get another conclusion that from the discriminative characteristic aspect, thesaurus of different kinds of word class show different discriminative characteristics. Concretely, they differ mostly in semantic discriminative characteristics, and leastly in pragmatic discriminative characteristics. The syntax discriminative characteristics have the strongest stability. On basis of this, this article discusses and analyzes some phenomenon of the thesaurus formation, and draw the conclusion that the formation of the thesaurus in《Huainanzi》is the result of joint action of subjectivity and objectivity.
