Kao Gong Ji "bows And Arrows Material Test

As weapons of long shot, bow and arrow had bright moments in history. They were so important that eld counted them in Five-weapons (Wu bing).Making skills of bow and arrow were recorded in Kao-Gong Ji which was the earliest book about skills of handicraft industry in ancient China. My paper concerns Bow Maker (Gong ren) and Arrow Maker (Shi ren), each of which is a chapter of Kao-Gong Ji.In the part of Bow, we talk about how bow maker chose material such as seven timbers, glues, horns. And we also try to elucidate several hard words in respect of parts of bow.When next in the part of Arrow, we discuss the problem about starting materials of arrow. And some notes on original text of Arrow Maker are disproved. Moreover, we try hard to explain those odd words in respect of Arrow Maker.
