For a long time, many critics of literature are inclined to read Zhang Jie's novels from feminism critique, then Zhang Jie is praised as a pioneer of female literature and her novels are considered to be declaration and thought of female liberation during the New Period. Zhang Jie's novels expressed her discussion and thought to female issue and female liberation. is the magnum opus of Zhang Jie ,and also the research object of this thesis . The thesis analyzes the writing from 3 aspects: theme research, images research and narration characteristics .On the theme research, I think this novel opens out the actuality and the cause of the female tribulations nowadays. In the second aspect, Zhang Jie not only successfully figures the representative image of intellectual women —Wu Wei, but also depicts another image type who are attached to men. All of these indicate female liberation need understanding of both men and women. Narration characteristics include love narration, experience narration and simple images.The novel indicates Zhang Jie' new accomplishment, which consolidates her position of female literature history by her sharp-cut view, steady standpoint, profound thought and spiritual edification.
