Research On Narration And Presentation Of The Postmodernist Film Aesthetic Characteristics

The postmodernist culture ideas have been rising and disseminating, so have been the postmodernist film. While identifying its cultural identity, postmodernist film also constructs the film aesthetic system of itself in the development and changing of almost half a century, which shows its unique aesthetic characteristics. This thesis has the following conclusions after research: the narration of aesthetic characteristics of postmodernism films is mainly through some language strategies, such as parody, pastiche and irony; concurrent or heterogeneous film duration and space; and also through the imaginary film language of long-take, picture-in-picture, Voice-over and so on. At the same time, Postmodernism films also display some unique aesthetic implication: choosing ugliness, violence and marginal things as their main topics; adopting CITA languages, inter-textual languages and popular languages. Through these ways, Postmodernism films bring out debris, jokingly and absurd style.This thesis is under the guidance of logic analysis, demonstration analysis, macro-survey and micro-discussion. Adopting the theory of western postmodernist culture, this thesis carefully analyzes the cultural context for the birth of postmodernist film and combs its general development course. And also, this thesis analyzes the aesthetic characteristics of postmodernist film through three levels: aesthetic discourse highlight, aesthetic paradigm conveyance and aesthetic implication dimension. In the end, this thesis illustrates the "postmodern" characteristic of Chinese contemporary films by the specific film text. It also explains the aesthetic value and aesthetic dilemma of the Chinese postmodernism films, and makes a prospect for it.
