The dissertation is based on the participation in the project of 'Investigation and Research on the Current Use and Problems of New-created Writing System for Ethnic Minorities in Teaching and Education in China'.And the author is taking charge of the investigation and research on current use of new-created writings systems of Wa ethnic minority in schooling and eliminating illiteracy education in Yunnan province.The dissertation is trying to make historical review and summary on the new-created writing system of Wa ethnic minority used in schooling and eliminating illiteracy education and to make a current research on the new-created writing system of Wa ethnic minority used in schooling and eliminating illiteracy education. The author made a detailed fieldwork by virtue of varies of research methods such as literature, questionnaire, interview, observation participated, case study etc, and achieved the first-hand original data. By the virtue of structural functionalism theory, the author explained the existing significance and needs of the new-created writing system of Wa ethnic minority and its function during the deferent period in history.According to the field work in two countries and a village of Yunnan province in Wa ethnic minority area, the author believe that the new-created writing system of Wa ethnicminority is also playing the roles that any other writing system can not replace in new times.The dissertation also discussed the relationship between the new-created writing system of Wa ethnic minority and school education in Wa ethnic minority area. And the author believed that the most effective way to protect the the new-created writing system of Wa ethnic minority is to help it continue to use in school education in Wa ethnic minority area. Furthermore, the author analyzed the importance of the new-created writing system of Wa ethnic minority using in school education in Wa ethnic minority area and pointed out the restriction factors of its using.At last, the author try to give some advices according to how to protect the new-created writing system of Wa ethnic minority in deferent administrative levels.
