'Iconology' comes from the 'iconography' in the 19^th century, and become completely developed in the 20^th century. Until today, it's one of the most important subject in modern visual studies. It brings a new method to today's study of art history. Aby Warbury is known as a pioneer of Iconology . Becouse he seldom write in English , we are familiar with his name but exactly don't know much about him. In this text, I intend to trace his train of thought , and may to provide some reference to the sudy of art history. I found that anthropology is an great influence on Warburg's study , so in this text I will consider this point as an important one. In this text we may analyse many factors about anthropology , so we know how it related with Warburg's study, and how it accelerate the advent of Iconology.
